August 12, 2024 at 4:53 pmSomeone who professes to love God, who behaves piously, doing all the religious things they may have a long laundry religious list of requirements for everyone around them, but when you look up-close and personal at their lives, they are chronically Arrogant, and Entitled, Lacking at heart Empathy, Exploitative, Grandiose, Acting as Superior.

August 12, 2024 at 5:14 pmNarcissist are unable to regulate their negative emotions, and they are in need of constant validation, constant affirmation, and admiration from others, they lack self awareness, and they tend to manipulate, and deceive to get what they want.

August 12, 2024 at 5:17 pmA religious Narcissist appears to be up-close and personal with God. They will show up at prayer meetings. They have an incredible understanding of the bible. They may even teach the bible, speak in tongues, or prophecy. But the truth of the matter is; They are at war with God!

August 12, 2024 at 5:18 pmDespite all the pious they may say or do. They may not even realize it. Let’s look at a colorful passage in the bible, where Jesus actually, talks about the hypocrisy of the religious Narcissist of his day. Jesus told us 3 things we should do, when we find ourselves encountering similar people in our lives.

August 12, 2024 at 5:23 pmThey have this baseline emotions, Primary anger, hatred, envy. Those are the three dark triad emotions of a Narcissist. They are always simmering just beneath the surface. If you take a look at the religious leaders, they were full of contempt, and hatred.
spiritdoc1Prayers: 45179Requests: 2608
August 12, 2024 at 5:27 pmThey did not empathized with the suffering of people, when Jesus would heal people, instead of the religious leaders rejoicing, that those people were free from years of suffering and torment, they were in raged that Jesus healed on the sabbath, the religious leaders wanted people’s honor and admiration, which was actually their drug of narcissism of supply.
spiritdoc1Prayers: 45179Requests: 2608
August 12, 2024 at 5:29 pmBecause Jesus was getting more admiration, and more honor, than them, it fuel their hatred at him. To the point, that they wanted to annihilate him. Also whenever Jesus confronts the Pharisee or point out their hypocrisy they would get enraged.

August 12, 2024 at 5:31 pmThey would gnash their teeth. The religious leaders they were also envious 📖It was their envy that nailed Jesus to the cross. So the ancient religious leaders of biblical times are similar to today’s modern day narcissist.

August 12, 2024 at 5:33 pmI say they were more extreme on the continuum than more narcissist because they were cruel, they were ruthless, and literally plotting to kill Jesus in the most torturous humiliating way. Jesus also compare false prophets to wolves in sheep’s clothing, which is an accurate imaged to depict covert Narcissist is like.

August 12, 2024 at 5:34 pmThe passage is Matthew 23 So Jesus was quickly becoming a public famous figure, doing healings and many miracles and people were praising him, and calling him Hosanna, laying their clothes and their branches on the streets, as He passed by.
spiritdoc1Prayers: 45179Requests: 2608
August 12, 2024 at 5:35 pmAnd on top of that, Jesus was on a mission to confront the corruption other religions institution of his day. In fact, He had just turned the tables in the temple. God because of the greed and corruption that was infiltrated in God’s house of worship.

August 12, 2024 at 5:37 pmAfter that event, the religious leaders were trying to test Jesus, over and over trying to trap him on his words, with many controversial questions, or sometimes using convoluted hypothetical scenario’s but Jesus was brilliant and wise and He rendered this people’s speechless each time, so no one was able to ask Him questions any more.

August 12, 2024 at 5:39 pmSo basically you have Jesus, coming out of this encounters with corruption and the twistedness of duplicity of religious leaders and now, in Matthew 23, He is about to unload, in a spiritual way off course, His feelings about this people to His disciples and the crowds of people who were listening. I will be highlighting four main things Jesus said about the religious narcissist.
spiritdoc1Prayers: 45179Requests: 2608
August 12, 2024 at 5:41 pmThen three ways He instruct his hearer’s to respond. Do and observe whatever they tell you, but not the works they do. For they preach and do not practice. Matthew 23.3 That is an interested statement! A lot of times this religious Narcissist will say the right things, and how biblically sound messages, and all the right bible verses, but the problem is, that they have an agenda behind the words they say.
spiritdoc1Prayers: 45179Requests: 2608
August 12, 2024 at 5:48 pmThey actually treat words as tools, to accomplished certain purpose. Jesus said let your yes, be yes, and no be no! Matthew 5:37 But to a narcissist a yes, is only a yes, for that specific moment and time, and it is subject to change, at an any given time without no warning! And saying with their No’s there is 0 to little consistency and substance of words that they use.
spiritdoc1Prayers: 45179Requests: 2608
August 12, 2024 at 5:50 pmSo they may have teachings that will move the hearts of the people who read their posts. But they themselves, ascribe to little or none of what they say. In other words, they do not practice what they preach. Jesus calls such a people hypocrites. He compares them, as washed tombs, they look real good, and poor and pious in the outside, but on the inside, they are full of death man’s bones.
spiritdoc1Prayers: 45179Requests: 2608
August 12, 2024 at 5:52 pmSo Jesus says listening to religious Narcissist that it has some merit, off course of what they say, aligns with the truth, there is no merit, following their example. Second thing Jesus said, about religious narcissist leaders They tie up heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on people’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to move them with their finger. Matthew 23:4
spiritdoc1Prayers: 45179Requests: 2608
August 12, 2024 at 5:54 pmSo again, Jesus is describing some interested Narcissist traits here. They have unreasonable, unattainable expectations of others, They have a high laundry list, of religious requirements. Expecting people to perform and be good enough for their approval, but this people are not willing to help others and they do not live to the high and strict standards that they impose of others. Jesus goes on to say later What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you pharisees. Hypocrites!
spiritdoc1Prayers: 45179Requests: 2608
August 12, 2024 at 5:55 pmFor you are careful to tithe even the tiniest income from your herb gardens, but you ignore the more important aspects of the law. Justice, mercy and faith. You should tithe yes, but do not neglect the more important things. Blind guides!
spiritdoc1Prayers: 45179Requests: 2608
August 12, 2024 at 5:57 pmYou strain your water so you won’t accidentally swallow a gnat, but you swallow a camel.” Matthew 23:23 That is a-lot like a Narcissist they perform religious activities, look very good in the outside, but they neglect dealing with the sins of their heart. Pride, Envy, Hatred, Deception, Anger, to simply name a few things. Which are heavy weight issues according to God. Paul the Apostle said, that you can have faith to move mountains, you can prophecy into the moon and back.
spiritdoc1Prayers: 45179Requests: 2608
August 12, 2024 at 5:58 pmYou can solve all the mysteries of the world, and give generously to congregations and ministries and organizations, but if you do not have love in your heart, none of it counts. Third thing Jesus says about Narcissistic leaders is that they do all their deeds to be seen by others. For they make their phylacteries broad and their fringes long. Matthew 23:5
spiritdoc1Prayers: 45179Requests: 2608
August 12, 2024 at 5:59 pmSimply put, Narcissist spend more time, creating an imaged, being super spiritual than actually cultivating the spirituality within themselves. These people are very imaged conscience. The fourth thing Jesus said, about them. “ And they love the place of honor at feasts and the best seats in the Synagogues and greetings in the marketplaces and being called rabbi.” Matthew 23:6
spiritdoc1Prayers: 45179Requests: 2608
August 12, 2024 at 6:02 pm📖Rabbi means in the greek, my teacher or master. So these religious leaders just like Narcissist, have a sense of self importance. In its grandiosity they always want to be considered VIP’S and be around with the VIP’S After Jesus points out the Narcissistic attitudes and the religious leaders, what does He say to His disciples and the crowds He is speaking to
spiritdoc1Prayers: 45179Requests: 2608
August 12, 2024 at 6:03 pmJesus highlights three main things; Addresses any possibility for Narcissism to be in the attitudes and hearts of the crowd. Jesus says to them, don’t let them call you Rabbi. Simply said, don’t get infected with the Narcissistic pride, self importance, grandiosity of the religious leaders by pursuing lofty positions, and titles, for the sake of being honored, and admired.
spiritdoc1Prayers: 45179Requests: 2608
August 12, 2024 at 6:05 pmDo not pursue it, don’t look for it. Take a different approach from the religious Narcissist who wants to have high article structure, so that can be masters and Lord over other people. Now i am not condemning higher article structures, the bible also says that GOD, establishes authority and so authority is good to against established authority is lawlessness.
