Anxiety due to feeling isolated from God

I have been feeling anxiety for 5 years. Everyday I wake up with an overwhelming feeling of panic. I believe it is because I feel separated from God. How do I know God is talking to me? Please pray that I will feel God’s love and learn to hear his voice. Please pray that my faith will grow. I was not always this way. It seems to have happened during the past few years when I have had many life crisis. I know I need to trust. Please pray that God will use me and show me what he wants me to do. I would also like prayers for my husband who is facing open heart surgery next month and my son in law who was let go from his job as a lawyer due to circumstances none being his fault. He is 40 years old and has hit many walls. Please pray that God opens a door for him. Thank you family for your prayers.

God is always near you. Seek him by praying and reading the living word the scriptures. Ask God to show you Jesus Christ’s Grace. Try walking in the spirt by reading Gal 5 – 16.

I do not have anxiety per se, but I know what you mean about feeling isolated. I’ve been struggling with why I feel far from God lately too.
A study I am going through has had a lesson about realizing how much we are loved by God, regardless of who or what we are. In church yesterday we sang “You’re a Good Good Father.” It was just what I needed to hear. Maybe it will encourage you too.

I think about why I feel distant, and some probably goes back to my relationship with my father. Another aspect is being a perfectionist and not feeling I’ve done the right things, possibly avoiding him myself because of this inadequacy. But our position in Christ is based on what he did for us, not what we do for him. The Scripture the writer referred to on this is Ephesians 1:1-14.
As you say this was brought on by some experiences you have had, find a faithful prayer warrior who will help you in seeking healing from any emotional scars, release from strongholds of the enemy that give access to your mind and emotions. I learned a lot about this through Dr. Henry Malone’s ministry, VisionLife Ministries.

Comment: How do you know the Bible is true? I am convinced it is true. It contains all the stuff I embrace in my faith. As for me, the Holy Spirit helps me see the truth. It changes my disposition on the truths that are in His word. I also believe that God has wisely ordered your life and my life. When you read the Bible, you hear God’s truths. For example: Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” Is this truth? Paul said it is. And he was content.
Prayer: Give the Holy Spirit opportunity in you to reveals God’s truths and change your dispositions towards those truths that are already in evidence. You will hear Him.
