Addicted to a prescription

    I’m in a really tough situation that I’ve been praying about for the last year. I take Adderall for ADHD which can get really bad, but I have a history with substance abuse and I have been abusing this drug for the last few years. I want out, but every time I try to get off of it, my work suffers and I really don’t want to lose my job. I feel like I’m in an endless cycle and I have a doctor’s appointment coming up to try and get off this time with a dr’s supervision. Please pray that God helps me have self control, wisdom and the strength to quit this stuff for good. Thanks all and I love you guys so much!

    Dear drmir, I stand with you. Going thru the same thing with tramadol. Not by choice. God loves us and gave us wise doctors when needed, but we know when we need help. I will pray for you right now my friend.

    I am struggling with this exact thing in my own life. The same cycle you speak of and the same drug. I will be praying heavily for you and the struggles that you may encounter, that i know so well. The Holy Spirit is the only way to break these chains, Jesus is our only hope.     I’m a passenger on your boat my friend. Struggle with chronic pain and depression. I have been gradually eliminating prescribed opiates. In January I was using 175 mcg of Fentynal and 120 Dilaudid a month. At this moment I’m down to 50 mcg of Fentynal and no pills at all. I’m hurting very bad so i understand your problem. It gets harder and harder each step down i take. I think about suicide ALL OF MY WAKING HOURS. I am almost 50 yrs old and i dont want to be numb to everything any more. The pain of withdrawal on top of excruciating pain from a neck injury is a no win scenario for me and my perception. I feel your anguish and I pray Jesus will help you when you’re faltering. I wish I could supernaturally take all of everyones pain and sorrow, anxiety and burdens on my back and take them out of this world with me. I really wish God to hear this prayer and make it happen as then i would feel my life meant something and i helped to heal people.
