August 10, 2024 at 10:45 amDear Brother, I’m sorry I did not pay attention to your name; but I definitely heard your plea, and so right now, I want to lift you up to Our God who can change everything. Father, You see your son who is struggling under the weight of teaching, more specifically its ongoing demands related to a graduate program, and entering into the private sector in a Christian school. Abba, Papa, I thank you for his heart to obey what You have called him to do. You hear his heart Holy Spirit, and so I ask You to speak to his exhaustion and perhaps even a spirit of perfection that he has placed upon himself. Your word reminds us the importance of not taking it upon ourselves to (put on) an ill-fitting garment. Father, I heard fear and anxiety creeping in behind the demands of the studies has undertaken. I heard a son who has very high standards for himself, confessing to His Father whom he loves, that he does not want to fail him, but beneath that, I heard a young man who does not want to disappoint You, (and everyone else around him) his new employer, his family and those with whom he is in close relationships. I heard a man with very high standards for himself, asking His Abba Father for reassurance that He will not be a disappointment to him if he should somehow fail (though I never actually heard him articulate a fear of failure). I rebuke the spirit of perfection and self-reliance from the heart of your son, in the strong tower that is Jesus. I ask for a Holy Spirit refreshing for Your anxious and weary child. Lord, help him to take every wayward thought captive, help him to rebuke the spirit of perfection and the fear of failure and take all self-defeating habits/tendencies captive, and help him to submit “all things”, especially our own self-defeating thoughts and expectations that exalt our own misgivings, above the sovereignty of Christ Jesus, captive. May he submit all things, his hopes and his fears to the authority of His risen King, and “His friend that walks with him daily in all things” to the authority of Christ Jesus. As Paul the Apostle said “By the grace of God, I am what I am what I am (1 Corinthians 15:10). My prayer for you is that you find strength in who you are‼️ Father, make this son who you created him to be. Help him to realize, understand and accept his own strengths and his limitations. They are just that, strengths and limitations You his Abba, Father stitched into the fabric of his being; “for we dare not class ourselves or compare ourselves with those who commend themselves. But they (who) are measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.” (2 Corinthians 10:12). Papa, help your boy to rearrange his priorities to be in line with Your will and the talents and abilities You have already given him. I speak from my own experience with fear of not measuring up. I teach (SDA) in a very rural parish (extremely poor) and riddled with generational curses that fuel the cycle of hopelessness and lack of motivation in their young lives. You are a light from God to illuminate and guide. Don’t allow self to dim what He has placed within You. I am just learning this at age 66! Right on time as we put all of our weight upon Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. Peace be still brother and know that Your God will never leave you nor forsake you. Much much love and affection, I am your sister-in-Christ, praying for you. ConniefromKillian❤️🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻‼️
