March 9, 2016 at 10:28 pmDear, Brothers and sisters in Christ, my wife, Lynn is a nurse at a local county correctional facility. Over the course of the last 2-3.years the correctional facility has become very overcrowded with approximately 250 – 300 (individuals incarcerated) over the maximum the facility was designed. My wife’s health has been adversely affected. Brothers and Sisters in Christ, thank you, for your prayers.

March 10, 2016 at 1:19 amDear Jim,
Praise the Lord for He is our protector.
God is sooooooooooooo good. I am glad to share with you today. I understand where you are at, brother. I got it! 🙂
Jim, several years before I met my husband, John , I worked for the state hospital for the criminally mentally ill. To explain, when people were sentenced there, they had committed a crime or crimes but they also had a history of mentally illness. I also worked at the county jail, P.R.N. as a floor nurse, basically passing medications and taking requests, from the inmates, for treatments. Both facilities provided excellent wages and the benefits at the state hospital were fabulous. Praise God for the blessings!
I am now married. My husband, John, is a wonderful godly man. He is the head of me , I submit and respect to his position that he holds biblically in our marriage. Praise God! My husband wanted, before we got married and continues to want, me to stay at home and not work outside of the home. Our provider,Jehovah-jireh, provides John’s income which is more than enough money for our necessities. Praise God! To explain, as simply as I can, what my husband does (Ha ha!), John communicates with people all around the world every day in the biomedical field.
First, John and I constantly pray. We pray that what we think, say, and do be to God’s glory that whatever we do honors God.
One of the things we pray about is God keeping us safe from dangers seen and unseen. That is while we drive as well as at work and home.
We pray that we are good stewards over the money in which God gives us. Now, although my husband almost makes six figures and it’s just the two of us at home, we seriously budget our money. We both took budgeting classes from a wonderful Christian organization, so that we could be on the same page and honor God as man and wife with our finances at the beginning of our marriage. One of the things that we were taught was that if you shop from a menu instead of a grocery list, statistics have proven that you will save 30 to 50% of what you would normally spend on groceries! And this actually works. I kid you not!
I am frugal…seriously. When we first got married, my husband use to beg me to please spend more than $20 at a store. I respected his wishes; it was a bit difficult and he helped me. He told me to just get cash back so the purchase would be a least $20. My husband and I work together on our finances. I am still frugal; my husband laughs about it and smiles appreciating how many ways I have saved us money. He tells people about our first meal (2010) I cooked which was salmon, saffron rice, California blend vegetables and fruit cocktail…Total $6.04 and he had leftovers to take for lunch the next day! Ha! Ha! Ha! Hey, that is another way to save money, Jim Ha! Ha! Ha!
We do not have a ton of credit card debt. If, and I mean ” if “, we have to use a credit card, for example, when we go on vacation, we QUICKLY pay it off. PERIOD!
Sit down, first have a talk with God. Ask Him. “Lord what do YOU want me to do as the husband?” After speaking heart to heart and being “real” with God sit down and calmly talk with with your wife. Something John and I understand , that when we discuss matters, it is not just us talking to one another. But we have the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit involved.; it’s not just our decision. Speak and pray the Word of God to one another about your fiances. Praise God that He already has figured this out and start singing praise, literally, sing unto Him a NEW song, that it is already done. Praise God that you and your wife will have a testimony to share with others about this situation.
This Christian journey is a faith walk and a marathon not a sprint. Faith without works is dead, so brother, put your faith to work with your wife… “…Trust in the Lord, lean not to your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path…”
They, “the experts” , say that the number one thing women look for in a man is “security.” Looking out for your wife by talking with the Most High God certainly would make me feel more secure. And I truly believe that your wife will appreciate you taking the leadership position in your home.
I have already prayed for you and and praising God for your success.
God bless. I know if you trust in the Lord, all this will come out for His glory.
Love you both brother,

March 11, 2016 at 2:37 pmKathy, your Godly relationship with John sounds amazing. I can see why you’re proud to share the full details. I pray that neither one of you stray from God’s path. May you have affection for each other for life.

Jim, it’s hard to see a loved one waste away especially when there are options for health to be improved.God says He will help those who help others. Father God, you’re not a man that you should lie. Please offer Jim and Lynn the wisdom to change things for the better. Will Lynn find another job? Will she request that more staff be brought in? Will she submit a request for vacation or time off for wellness? Whatever the choice, it will lead to Lynn’s betterment. You are the God of peace, wholeness, wellness, and love. When any of these things are lacking, something is out of order and needs to be changed in our lives.
I pray that John will call a family meeting to discuss all the options with Lynn. Even if Lynn has to take a lower paying job, she and John will adjust living arrangements (i.e. get a smaller/ lower cost residence) to be able to pay their bills.
Finding a solution is worth all efforts, because what makes a house a home is the love of two people; but if the people are too tired, worn out or ill, how can they love? I pray for healing in the Walters’ household.
To the Father in the name and blood of the Son ?
