Please add my daughter, Kayce Byrnside, to the prayer list. Kayce has been a distance runner for the last 8 years. About 4 years ago, she began having fainting episodes when sitting in class (one about every 6 months or so). It has always been written off as mild dehydration in combination with an 8mm atrial septal defect. This year, she is a freshman in college and the training is much more intense. She fainted in late November, but the doctor found she had walking pneumonia and cleared her to run as soon as she finished a round of antibiotics. Thursday, Feb 11, she passed out again but this time was unconscious for 4 full minutes and had trouble regaining her faculties as she came to. The ER physician said she was mildly dehydrated, but none of her blood work shows anything out of place. The campus physician took more blood yesterday and wants to speak to her heart doctor before she will clear Kayce to run again. Her coach had informed the team that this next two weeks were critical to the season for training, so she is very distressed about the whole thing as well as worried about what could be the cause. Please pray that the doctor will have wisdom beyond her years and find the issue.
