Identity – thinking aloud- to find our true identity – the key must be with whom we identify with – if we are in Christ – we identity with Christ – with Him – in Him.

One can [know] something or can be [aware] of the facts. Ownership, is having full [possession] or [understanding] of the facts. To fully [possess] ie. [take ownership] of a thing, means one has a [full] working knowledge of said thing. When someone sets their heart to [fully] believe in something, they [take ownership] of it. It means, nothing or no one can get them to change their mind about what they believe to be theirs.

When it comes to how we as Christians are to see ourselves in the light of our (true identity], we are to allow the WORD 📖 of God to reshape our thinking until it becomes more in line with how God views us. It’s all part of the renewing of our mind mentioned in (Ro. 12:2). We are to allow God’s WORD 📕 to paint a picture on the inside of us. It’s a picture of who we are [in CHRIST], and it’s a picture of what belongs to us as God’s children. We are to take what God says about us like for instance, “We are more than conquers through Him Who loves us (Ro. 8:37). And we are to meditate on what the Bible says about who we are, and about what belongs to us. We do this long enough until we move past mere [knowledge] of what the WORD 📖 says, to us taking full [ownership] of God’s promise❣ I pray this helps a little, I’m no Bible scholar. I’m just learning like you how to walk in what belongs to us as a believers in our precious LORD and Savior❣ Blessings to you my dear sister. Praying you see yourself the way God sees you. Everything that belongs to Jesus – belongs to us – this is what spoke to me – by faith in the finished work of the cross – by faith in the new covenant – we are heirs of God & co-heirs with Christ. As the father said to the prodigal’s brother – ‘All that I have is yours.’ I’ve read in a devotional – we have been born again into a new family – we have a new Father & therefore we inherit all that our brother Christ has inherited from the Father. He, (JESUS) was given the Name above all names & through association with His Name – we inherit all that belongs to Him – by faith in His Name. Just as when my parents pass away – because I am their son, I have their name – I (& my siblings) will therefore inherit all that is theirs. I have done nothing to earn this or deserve it but I receive by simply being a son.
