August 16, 2024 at 9:19 pmLord, i pray that you replace georgieb1’s (G’s) desire for alcohol with a desire to grow closer to you. I pray for the power of your Holy Spirit to bring more self-control and joy into G’s life. Let G know how precious and loved he or she is to you, and let this knowledge replace G’s need to drink allowing G to more fully experience the good life and purpose that You have planned for him or her. I also pray that you give G a supportive, loving community as he or she goes through this transformation in your strength and grace. In the mighty name of Jesus I pray. Amen

August 17, 2024 at 10:13 amCongratulations! on your desire to want to stop drinking. Most experts will say, that acknowledgment that one has a problem with ➡ (Name your addiction), is the first step in recovery. I would have to agree. I too had a strong propensity to imbibe in the devil’s brew at one time in my life. I’d say the next step to having the desire taken away from you, is taking a step of faith, and believe that the only way to get totally free is to trust in the LORD’S ability completely, and no on your own ability. Your own ability, or your (own self works) most of the time is futile at best❣ Let me share with you how I gained freedom. I prayed a lot. I made sure I was attending a good church that taught the WORD,📕 and how we are to receive from God by using my own faith. In doing this, I then learned that God wants us free from sins that so easily beset us (Heb. 12:1). And that He’s near and wants to help us to gain freedom from spiritual attacks, and from all of the enemy’s strategies that are meant to hold us in bondage. I read my Bible constantly, focusing on deliverance verses the most. I had learned earlier in my walk that [faith] comes by hearing and by hearing the WORD 📖 of God (Ro. 10:17). And I was learning that in order to be able to receive anything that the WORD 📕 of God promises, it takes [faith] to do so❣
Here’s some verses that helped me, (1 Jn. 4:4) “You, dear children, are from God and have over come them, because the One Who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.” (Gal. 5:1) “CHRIST has liberated us into freedom. Therefore stand firm and don’t submit again to a yoke of slavery.” (Ja. 4:7) “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he [will] flee from you.” I really like (Psa. 34:17) “The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; He [delivers] them from [all] their troubles.” This is just a few. Once I began to feed on the promises of God, my problem with alcohol began to get smaller. As I intentionally elevated the WORD 📕 in my thinking by reading it and meditating on it, and by speaking it, the WORD 📖 became Bigger! in me than the desire to drink. After doing this for awhile I began to see myself as being delivered. The more I meditated on God’s promises, the more my [faith] began to grow (Ro. 10:17). Then one day church was held, I went forward to have my Pastor and Elders lay hands on me. I set it in my mind that when they did, I would receive my deliverance from alcohol, and from substances in general. Sure enough, I walked out of that service convinced that deliverance was mine. That was 45 years ago, and to this day I am free indeed by the Son Who sets the captives free❣ This is not to say that I didn’t get tempted from time to time, because I did. That’s when I would beat the devil 👿 over the head with the WORD 📕 of God, and he would flee❣ georgieb1, I can only share what happened to me. The good LORD may work in you in another way. The point is that JESUS desires to take your desire for drinking completely away from you. I would encourage you to look to the “Author And Finisher” of your [faith], Who also is your strong “Deliver”, and feast on His infallible WORD 📖 of promises, until the WORD📕 get’s so Big! in you that nothing the devil 👿 can do will be able to stop you from receiving your deliverance❣ Look to the good LORD, He will never disappoint❣ Praying you walk into your deliverance. And that you never look back…In JESUS’ matchless and mighty Name.
Amen! 💞tcookuabPrayers: 4592Requests: 81
August 18, 2024 at 10:53 amfamily, Father, You said in Isaiah 43:19 “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” Christ, through Reformative Grace, bring them to where glory reaches its full potential in The Almighty’s name, Amen!!
